Frequently asked questions.

How often should I come to therapy?

It depends on what you need! I often recommend starting with weekly appointments, but for some clients, finances or scheduling makes every other week work better. As you improve, we may go from weekly to biweekly to monthly, but this is always an open conversation.

Is therapy “just talking?”

Although you will be doing most of the talking, therapy is much more than this. It’s a space to explore your patterns, emotions, and deepest self with a trained professional who will use evidence-based interventions to address whatever it is you are struggling with.

How is couple’s counseling different from individual counseling?

In individual therapy, the counselor and an individual work together to address the struggles the client is facing. In couple’s therapy, the relationship between both partners is the client. The counselor does not keep secrets for either party or side with either individual because the counselor’s loyalty is with the relationship.

Do you accept insurance?

I am out of network with all insurance companies. Most insurance companies offer some out of network benefits, and I am happy to provide an itemized receipt to submit to your insurance company for out of network benefits. If you are unsure about your out of network benefits, you can find out about them by calling your insurance company.

What are your fees?

I charge $150 for a 50-55 minute individual session and $150 for a 50-55 minute couple’s session.
